We took the leap of faith!
Hi, I’m Genie, a homeschool mom living in Norwalk, CT. I love the freedom homeschooling brings to our life and how both my children get to learn in ways that spark their curiosity and match their personalities.
For us, homeschooling isn’t about recreating school at home—it’s about creating a lifestyle of learning. Some days that means books and structured lessons, other days it’s hands-on experiments, nature walks, museum visits, or traveling together as a family. The flexibility allows us to go deeper into the subjects they’re passionate about while also giving us the gift of more time together.
I know homeschooling can feel overwhelming at first, especially when you’re trying to figure out laws, curriculum choices, and how to find community. That’s why I created this space—to connect with other families in Fairfield County, share resources, and make the journey feel less lonely.
Whether you’re just curious about homeschooling or you’ve been at it for years, you’ll find encouragement, ideas, and a network of local families here. You don’t have to do this alone—welcome to our community! 💛

I started traveling solo at 17, backpacking my way through new countries with a carry-on and a curiosity for the world. I stayed in hostels, booked last-minute trains, and learned how to navigate unfamiliar places completely on my own. Those early years shaped me—taught me resilience, independence, and how to connect with people across cultures.
Over time, my travel style evolved. These days, I appreciate the beauty of luxury—stunning hotels, incredible service, and experiences that offer both comfort and connection. But that free-spirited backpacker is still in me. I’m equally happy barefoot on a beach, wandering through a hidden village, or soaking in a rooftop tub at a five-star resort. It’s the contrast that makes it meaningful.
As a homeschooling family, we use travel as a living classroom. Whether we’re walking through ancient ruins, learning local customs, or sampling unfamiliar foods, every journey becomes an unforgettable teaching moment.
This section of my site is where I share our global adventures—from spontaneous street markets to luxurious getaways—and how homeschooling on the road brings learning (and life) to a whole new level.
